I am going to call today for what it really is, and say that I had a 2 hour lesson on the Kama Sutra. Don't worry, Steve, it wasn't 'hands-on'. Today we walked around Khajuraho, which is the birthplace of the Kama Sutra, and the temples here are absolutely one of a kind. You can see in the details of these temples intricate sculptures of people having sex in a wide array of positions, and our guide was kind enough to explain facial expressions on the sculptures. "You see here, his face not happy for he has not to receive the oral pleasure yet. First must to have oral pleasure before each time making the sex". He also went into INCREDIBLE detail explaining the women's breasts, the color and shape of the male sex organ, and the various positions. I am positive he has the only job in India that allows a man to talk about sex with women, and he is not going to let the opportunity for some graphic details to be discussed. He says there are 84 positions in the Kama Sutra, and claims that "69" is called this not because of the positions likeness to the number, but because it is actually number 69 out of 84. I have no idea if this is true, so if anyone has better information, feel free to correct me.
The temples here are really not worthy of pictures. Everytime we would take a picture we'd look at it and sigh because it's NOTHING in comparison to these temples in person. Words will fail me in describing their detail, enormity, and overall grandness - but I think I have come to realize that words will continue to fail me in my attempt to accurately explain India.
